A growing, specialty insurance group will be appointing a Head of Tax based in London. Reporting to senior finance stakeholders and working closely with external advisors, this position is purposed to bring tax increasingly in-house and will involve the design and implementation of a best-in-class tax operating model.
Responsibilities will include:
- Consulting on strategy and providing tax advice to senior finance and commercial stakeholders as relating to tax
- Design and maintenance of an effective tax strategy for global business operations
- Leading on tax considerations for M&A and strategic projects.
- Oversight of the compliance process for all taxes impacting the group and managing the relationship with external advisors
- Liaison with auditors and tax authorities
- Management of cash tax for quarterly and year-end reporting. Review of consolidated ETR forecasts and providing routine tax information for group reporting purposes
- Oversight of transfer pricing arrangements and international taxes across varied jurisdictions
What we are looking for:
- ACA/CTA qualification, likely trained in the Big 4 and 7+ years PQE
- Demonstrable in-house experience within the London Market
- Extensive experience with corporate/international taxes. Indirect tax exposure considered advantageous
- Experience managing/overseeing tax compliance and reporting processes
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to present and influence, and challenge at senior levels
