An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an experienced Tax Disputes professional to join the market-leading Tax Dispute Resolution team of a Big 4 firm. Recognised across the profession for their expertise in tax investigations and contentious tax matters, this team continues to see strong demand from a diverse and high-profile client base.

The Role

As a Tax Disputes Manager, you will:

  • Manage a portfolio of complex tax investigations, disputes and disclosure cases

  • Develop and agree strategies with clients, including fee structures and resolution approaches

  • Draft clear, persuasive reports and disclosures to HMRC, ensuring technical accuracy and commercial focus

  • Represent clients in negotiations with HMRC, defending positions with authority and expertise

  • Collaborate with senior specialists across the wider tax practice, providing input into complex transactions and advisory work

About You

You will be a qualified tax professional (ATT, CTA or HMRC background) with:

  • Proven experience in tax disputes, investigations or enquiries

  • Strong understanding of HMRC processes including disclosures and penalty mitigation

  • Excellent technical knowledge of UK taxation (with particular strength in personal or corporate tax)

  • The ability to build strong client relationships and deliver clear, strategic advice under pressure
