A leading mid-tier accountancy practice is seeking a Tax Investigations Director to join its well-regarded team in London. This opportunity combines complex advisory work with the scope to build your own client portfolio and play a significant role in the firm's continued growth.

The role
Working closely with tax partners, directors and the wider Private Client team, you will advise high-net-worth individuals and their advisers on complex tax investigations and disputes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing complex Code of Practice 8 and Code of Practice 9 investigations.
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients and their advisers throughout ongoing or anticipated investigations.
- Developing your own client portfolio, winning new business and identifying opportunities to support existing clients.
- Building relationships across the firm and its external referral network.
- Raising the team's profile through marketing, professional events and relationship development.
- Contributing to management decisions and the strategic direction of the practice.
About you
You will bring strong technical knowledge, sound commercial judgement and the interpersonal skills to build trust with clients and colleagues.
You will ideally offer:
- A relevant degree and/or an ACA or CTA qualification, with relevant post-qualification experience.
- A strong background in tax investigations, ideally including COP8 and COP9 cases.
- Up-to-date technical knowledge and the ability to explain complex tax matters clearly.
- Experience developing client relationships and identifying new business opportunities.
- The confidence to represent the firm externally and contribute to its market profile.
- Strong analytical skills and excellent written and verbal communication.
