Senior Manager - Tax Investigations - Birmingham
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced tax investigations specialist to join a growing, market-leading team advising individuals and privately owned businesses on complex and high-profile interactions with HMRC.
The Senior Manager will take a leading role on complex HMRC investigations and enquiries, managing cases from initial engagement through to resolution. This will include advising on HMRC powers, information requests, formal disclosures, penalties, assessments and appeals, as well as negotiating with HMRC to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients. The role will involve working closely with senior stakeholders and building trusted relationships by providing clear, commercially focused advice throughout what can often be challenging situations.
Alongside leading client work, the Senior Manager will play an important role in developing new business, strengthening client relationships and contributing to the continued growth of the investigations practice. They will have the opportunity to work alongside a team bringing together former HMRC officers, tax advisers, lawyers and accountants, providing a genuinely rounded perspective on complex tax disputes.
The role would suit an ambitious tax investigations professional looking for greater responsibility, high-quality advisory work and the opportunity to build their market profile within a specialist and growing practice.
