US/UK TAX ASSISTANT MANAGER - LONDON (£55,000 - £70,000)
Established US/UK Tax Boutique | London
First Management Role in a Technically Demanding Environment
We are looking for an Assistant Manager to step up into team leadership at a long-established, specialist US/UK tax practice. You will manage complex client work, develop junior staff, and gain real exposure to high-level advisory matters in a boutique where technical credibility matters far more than volume.
What You'll Do:
-
Lead a small team handling complex expatriate tax matters.
-
Review and sign off US and UK tax returns.
-
Manage technically demanding client files (PFIC, CFC, expatriation, foreign tax credits).
-
Contribute to cross-border tax planning and advisory projects.
-
Mentor junior staff and support their ongoing technical development.
-
Liaise with clients and tax authorities on complex matters.
What You Need:
-
ATT qualified and/or IRS Enrolled Agent (essential); CTA study or qualification is a strong plus.
-
4-6 years' US/UK personal tax experience with proven technical depth.
-
Track record handling complex cross-border matters.
-
Team leadership experience or proven readiness to step up into management.
-
Strong technical credibility across dual-handling work and excellent client-facing skills.
Why This Firm Is Different:
-
Established Reputation: Recognised specialist practice in US expatriate taxation with decades of market presence.
-
Technical Rigour: Leadership team includes highly experienced Directors holding ATT, CTA, and EA qualifications.
-
Complex Work Focus: High-net-worth clients, intricate cross-border structures, and advisory-led engagements rather than assembly-line compliance.
-
Boutique Environment: Genuine client portfolio ownership and direct exposure to senior partners.
-
Specialist Niche: The ideal setup if you want to build a reputation as a true subject-matter expert in US/UK cross-border tax.
Salary & Benefits: £55,000 - £70,000 + Benefits
