US/UK Tax Manager - Trusts & Estates

£67,000-£80,000 + Benefits | Top 10 Accountancy Firm | London | Hybrid Working

Develop your expertise in US-connected trusts, estates and international family wealth within a leading Top 10 firm.

I'm working with a highly regarded Top 10 accountancy and advisory firm that's looking to appoint a US/UK Tax Manager into its established Trust & Family Office team in London.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced US/UK Tax professional who enjoys complex technical work, building client relationships and developing junior colleagues.

You'll work with internationally connected families, trusts and estates, advising on sophisticated cross-border tax matters while taking on genuine responsibility for client portfolios and team development.

With direct access to experienced Partners, structured professional development and opportunities to progress towards Senior Manager, this is a fantastic next step for someone looking to build a long-term career in international private client tax.

The Opportunity

You'll join a specialist team advising high-net-worth individuals, families, trustees and estates with complex US and UK tax affairs.

The role offers an interesting balance of technical advisory, compliance oversight, client relationship management and people leadership.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a portfolio of US-connected trusts, estates and private clients.
  • Advising on US and UK tax implications relating to trust and estate income, assets and distributions.
  • Overseeing complex cross-border tax compliance and supporting specialist advisory projects.
  • Building relationships with clients, trustees and other professional advisers.
  • Reviewing technical work and providing guidance on complex US/UK tax matters.
  • Line-managing, mentoring and developing junior colleagues.
  • Supporting workflow planning, appraisals and the day-to-day management of the team.
  • Working closely with Partners and senior leadership on client matters and the continued development of the practice.

About You

We're interested in speaking to established US/UK Tax Managers, as well as strong Assistant Managers who are ready to take the next step.

Ideally, you'll bring:

  • Experience in US/UK personal tax, with meaningful exposure to trusts and estates.
  • A good understanding of the tax issues affecting internationally connected families and wealth structures.
  • Relevant professional qualifications such as EA, ATT, CTA or STEP.
  • Experience reviewing technical work and managing client relationships.
  • An interest in developing and mentoring junior team members.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, client-focused approach.

Dual US and UK qualifications are welcome but not essential. The firm will also consider exceptional candidates with qualifications focused predominantly on either US or UK taxation.

What's particularly important is relevant technical experience, an interest in complex international trust matters and the ability to build strong client relationships.
