A leading Top 10 accountancy and advisory firm is looking to appoint a VAT Manager into its growing London-based Indirect Tax team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly collaborative team advising a broad portfolio of clients ranging from entrepreneurial businesses and owner-managed companies through to multinational groups. The role combines advisory and compliance responsibilities, with increasing exposure to international VAT, cross-border transactions and wider indirect tax matters.

The Opportunity

As a VAT Manager, you'll take ownership of a varied client portfolio and act as a trusted adviser across a range of VAT and indirect tax matters.

You'll work closely with Directors and Partners on technical projects while enjoying the autonomy to manage client relationships and support the development of junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a portfolio of VAT clients across a wide range of sectors
  • Delivering a blend of VAT compliance and advisory services
  • Advising on UK and international VAT issues
  • Supporting clients with transaction planning and indirect tax risk management
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients and building long-term relationships
  • Working closely with colleagues across corporate tax, private client and audit teams
  • Identifying opportunities to add value and expand client relationships
  • Coaching and developing junior members of the team

About You

You are likely to be:

  • CTA qualified (or equivalent)
  • An experienced VAT professional with strong UK indirect tax knowledge
  • Comfortable managing client relationships independently
  • Technically strong with a practical and commercial approach
  • Interested in broadening your advisory exposure
  • Motivated by progression and professional development

Experience across multiple sectors and exposure to international VAT matters would be highly advantageous.
