Pro Finance is working with a successful and expanding independent accountancy practice looking to recruit an experienced Audit & Accounts Senior to join its growing team in North Northamptonshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA or ACCA qualified professional seeking a varied role combining both audit and accounts responsibilities. Working across a diverse portfolio of clients, you will lead assignments, develop client relationships, support junior team members, and play a key role in delivering a high-quality service.

The Role
As an Audit & Accounts Senior, you will manage a varied portfolio of clients across a broad range of sectors including owner-managed businesses, limited companies, corporate groups, charities and not-for-profit organisations.
The role offers an approximate 60:40 split between audit and accounts work, providing excellent exposure across both disciplines.
You'll work both at client premises and within the office, taking responsibility for engagements from planning through to completion while acting as a trusted point of contact for clients and colleagues alike.
Key Responsibilities
Audit Responsibilities
* Lead audits from planning through to completion
* Manage audit fieldwork assignments at client sites and remotely
* Supervise and support audit team members throughout engagements
* Review work completed by junior staff and provide constructive feedback
* Ensure assignments are completed within agreed budgets and timescales
* Identify risks and communicate findings to managers and partners
* Prepare high-quality audit documentation and supporting working papers
* Assist with audit planning and contribute to engagement strategy discussions
* Liaise confidently with clients throughout the audit process
* Support the finalisation of audits, including accounts preparation and related compliance work
* Ensure compliance with relevant auditing standards and regulatory requirements
Accounts Responsibilities
* Prepare statutory accounts for a range of business entities
* Produce management accounts and supporting financial information
* Prepare lead schedules and supporting reconciliations
* Complete control account reconciliations and supporting analyses
* Assist with corporation tax and sole trader tax computations
* Resolve client queries and liaise effectively with stakeholders
* Support managers with the delivery of high-quality client service
Team & Practice Responsibilities
* Mentor and support trainees and junior team members
* Contribute ideas to improve processes and efficiency
* Maintain accurate records and client documentation
* Ensure compliance with internal procedures and professional standards
* Complete timesheets and assignment administration accurately
* Support the wider team with additional responsibilities as required
About You
Essential Requirements
* ACA or ACCA qualified
* Minimum three years' experience within a UK accountancy practice environment
* Strong external audit experience
* Experience preparing statutory accounts
* Good working knowledge of FRS 102
* Full UK driving licence and access to your own transport
* Unrestricted right to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available)
Desirable Experience
* Previous experience supervising or mentoring junior staff
* Exposure to a broad client portfolio including charities and not-for-profit organisations
* Experience using audit and accounts production software
