Audit Manager

Henley-on-Thames | £60,000 - £65,000 | Full-time or part-time
If you're an experienced Audit Manager who wants more influence, more variety and fewer layers of hierarchy, this could be a very interesting move.
I'm recruiting for a growing, independent accountancy practice in Henley-on-Thames that is investing in its audit offering and looking for an Audit Manager to play a key role in its continued development.
This isn't simply a case of inheriting a portfolio and keeping everything ticking over. You'll work closely with the Audit Partner, lead complex assignments, develop the team and have a genuine say in how the department evolves.

The role

You'll take responsibility for a varied portfolio of audit work, with plenty of technical interest and client contact. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading audit teams across group and international assignments
  • Managing audits from planning through to completion
  • Preparing consolidations under IFRS and FRS 102
  • Managing your portfolio against deadlines and budgets
  • Reviewing work and maintaining high technical standards
  • Supervising, mentoring and developing members of the audit team
  • Working closely with the Audit Partner on technical matters
  • Building strong relationships with clients
  • Helping shape processes, systems and the future development of the audit department

It's a particularly good opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical side of audit but also wants to be involved in the bigger picture.

About you

You'll ideally be:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified with at least three years' PQE
  • From a UK accountancy practice background, with at least five years' practice experience
  • Technically strong across UK GAAP and ISAs
  • Experienced in audit and statutory accounts software
  • Comfortable leading assignments and supporting more junior members of staff
  • Confident dealing directly with clients
  • Positive, pragmatic and solutions-focused
  • Open to new technology and improvements in how audit work is delivered

You could already be operating at Audit Manager level, or potentially be an experienced Assistant Manager who is genuinely ready to make the step up.

Why consider it?

The attraction here is the opportunity to have some influence.
You'll be joining a boutique firm where your contribution is visible and your ideas can actually make their way into how the department operates. As the audit offering continues to grow, there is also genuine scope for progression rather than having to wait for somebody above you to move on.
The package includes:

  • £60,000 - £65,000 salary
  • Clear progression opportunities
  • 23 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing by one day per year to 28 days
  • Pension
  • Life assurance
  • Free parking
  • Corporate reward scheme
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Part-time applicants are also welcome

If you're an Audit Manager, or an experienced Assistant Manager ready for the next step, and would like to know more about the firm, team and opportunity before deciding whether it's worth a conversation, get in touch.
