Audit Manager

Henley-on-Thames | £65,000 - £75,000 | Full-time or Part-time

There are Audit Manager roles where you inherit a portfolio, follow the existing processes and keep everything ticking over.

This one gives you the opportunity to actually influence what comes next.

I'm recruiting for a growing boutique accountancy practice in Henley-on-Thames that is developing its audit offering and looking for an Audit Manager to become a key part of that growth.

You'll work closely with the Audit Partner, take ownership of technically interesting assignments and have a genuine voice in how the department develops.

The role

You'll have responsibility for a portfolio of audit work, combining technical involvement, team leadership and direct client contact.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading audit teams on group and international assignments
  • Managing assignments and your wider portfolio against deadlines and budgets
  • Preparing consolidations under IFRS and FRS 102
  • Working closely with the Audit Partner on technical audit matters
  • Supervising, mentoring and developing audit staff
  • Building strong relationships with clients
  • Maintaining high technical and service standards
  • Helping shape processes, systems and the future direction of the audit department

This is a role where your technical expertise will be valued, but you'll also have the opportunity to make a wider contribution to the team and firm.

What are they looking for?

You'll ideally be:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified with at least three years' PQE
  • Experienced within UK accountancy practice, with at least five years' practice experience
  • Technically strong across UK GAAP and ISAs
  • Experienced with audit and statutory accounts software
  • Confident leading audit assignments and managing competing deadlines
  • Comfortable supervising and developing junior colleagues
  • Personable and confident when dealing directly with clients
  • Proactive, pragmatic and solutions-focused
  • Comfortable embracing new systems and technology

You could already be an established Audit Manager, or potentially someone ready to step confidently into the position.

Why consider it?

You won't be joining a huge department where it takes years to make your mark.

This is a close-knit, growing team where you'll work directly with senior decision-makers and have the opportunity to influence how the audit function evolves.

The package includes:

  • £65,000 - £75,000 salary
  • Genuine progression opportunities
  • 23 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing by one day per year to a maximum of 28 days
  • Pension scheme
  • Life assurance
  • Free parking
  • Corporate reward scheme
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Part-time applicants also considered

If you're an Audit Manager looking for more influence, or you're ready to step up and want an opportunity where you can make a visible impact, I'd be keen to speak with you.
