Your role as Audit Manager
You will take ownership of your own portfolio, leading audits from planning through to completion and acting as the key point of contact for your clients.
This role sits firmly within the leadership layer of the audit team. You will work closely with Partners and Senior Managers, manage and develop junior staff, and ensure quality and commercial performance remain high.
Day to day, you will:
- Lead audits from planning through to completion
- Review files ahead of Responsible Individual sign off
- Manage workflow, budgets and fee recovery
- Act as the main point of contact for your clients
- Coach and mentor junior team members
- Set objectives at the start of assignments and provide ongoing feedback
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and strengthen client relationships
- Support the continued growth of the audit service line
The wider goal of the business is to deliver high quality audit while building long-term, trusted client relationships. You will play a key part in maintaining those standards and driving that growth.
What you'll need to succeed as Audit Manager
- ACA or ACCA qualified
- Strong statutory audit experience within UK practice
- Experience managing your own portfolio and leading audit teams
- Solid knowledge of ISA and UK GAAP, IFRS advantageous
- Commercial awareness and confidence in managing client relationships
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to run multiple jobs concurrently
- Experience within academies desirable
