Audit Senior - Beaconsfield - £47,000 - £52,000

Are you an Audit Senior looking for a role where you can take genuine ownership of your work, develop your client relationships and continue progressing towards management?

I'm working with a leading accountancy and business advisory firm in Beaconsfield that is looking to add an Audit Senior to its established Audit & Assurance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys running audits rather than simply completing individual sections. You'll take responsibility for assignments from planning through to completion, work directly with clients and play an important role in developing more junior members of the team.

The role

As an Audit Senior, you'll be trusted with plenty of responsibility, including:

• Leading audit assignments from planning through to completion
• Completing substantive and analytical audit procedures
• Preparing and reviewing statutory financial statements
• Identifying key audit risks and raising significant matters with Managers and Partners
• Leading planning, progress and completion meetings
• Managing budgets, deadlines and resources across your assignments
• Supervising, coaching and reviewing the work of junior team members
• Building strong relationships with clients and acting as a key day-to-day contact
• Working across a varied portfolio of businesses and sectors
• Getting exposure to more technically challenging assignments as your experience develops

Depending on your existing experience, there can also be exposure to areas including group audits, IFRS, overseas subsidiaries, acquisitions, disposals, restructures and other complex transactions.

What are they looking for?

You'll ideally have:

• Recent audit experience within a UK accountancy practice
• ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification, or be approaching qualification
• Good knowledge of UK GAAP and auditing standards
• Experience taking responsibility for audit assignments
• Confidence dealing directly with clients
• Experience supervising or coaching junior colleagues
• The ability to manage several assignments and competing deadlines

You don't need to know absolutely everything already. What matters is that you have a solid audit background, can take ownership of your work and want to continue developing technically and professionally.
