A Top 40 accountancy firm is expanding its presence in Bristol and is looking for a Corporate Tax Assistant Manager or Manager to join a brand-new Corporate Tax & Innovation team.

This is a rare opportunity to play a key role in shaping a growing team, with plans to expand to six tax professionals by the end of 2026.

Your role as a Corporate Tax and R&D Manager:

• Working closely with the Tax Partner from day one, supporting a varied and innovative client base while helping to establish the firm's Corporate Tax offering in Bristol.
• You'll advise a diverse range of OMB and Corporate clients, particularly within innovation-led sectors such as, Software Development, Manufacturing & Engineering, Defence, Cyber Security & AI.
• Take ownership of a client portfolio, managing end-to-end corporate tax compliance and advisory services.
• Lead the delivery and review of R&D tax relief claims, ensuring technical robustness and adherence to HMRC guidance.
• Provide clear, practical advice on the application of R&D legislation and identify qualifying expenditure.
• Prepare tax disclosures for statutory accounts and assist with a range of ad hoc tax advisory projects.
• Review tax computations and R&D claims, collaborating with internal technical specialists where appropriate.

What you'll need to succeed:

• ATT qualified or CTA qualified / studying (CTA support available).
• Assistant Manager (ready to step up with clear evidence of operating at that level) or already at Manager level.
• Background in Corporate Tax, R&D/Innovation Tax, or a mix of both.
• Experience working with OMBs and/or corporates.
• Strong Corporate Tax experience and an interest in R&D / Innovation Tax, or a background in R&D / Innovation Tax looking to broaden into Corporate Tax.
