Not every accountant wants to spend their career preparing year-end accounts and tax returns for the same collection of local businesses.

An established specialist outsourcing firm in South Oxfordshire is looking for an Outsourcing Semi-Senior to join its team.

The business has built an excellent reputation for providing outsourced accounting and financial reporting services to financial services clients, including investment managers and private equity firms.

Now part of a larger international group, it combines the expertise and personal approach of a specialist firm with the resources and opportunities of a global organisation.

What will you be doing?

You'll work alongside experienced accountants, supporting a portfolio of financial services clients with their day-to-day accounting and reporting requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts.
• Assisting with the preparation of statutory financial statements.
• Preparing VAT returns and supporting other reporting requirements.
• Maintaining accounting records and handling bookkeeping assignments.
• Liaising directly with clients and responding to queries.
• Developing your knowledge of financial services accounting and regulatory reporting.

This is an opportunity to build on your existing experience while gaining exposure to a specialist and interesting client base.

Who are they looking for?

You don't need previous experience working with investment managers or private equity firms.
What matters is having a good grounding in accounting, an interest in management accounts and a willingness to learn.
Ideally, you'll have:

• Experience working within an accountancy practice, ideally involving outsourcing or management accounts.
• Some experience preparing management accounts, VAT returns and financial statements.
• AAT qualifications or be studying towards ACA or ACCA, although relevant experience is equally important.
• Good communication skills and an organised approach to your work.
• The confidence to take on increasing responsibility as your experience develops.

Candidates with relevant industry accounting experience will also be considered.
