This is an outstanding opportunity to join a world-class International Tax & Transactions team, working with some of the most exciting private equity-backed businesses in the market.

The Opportunity

This specialist Private Equity Portfolio Tax team sits alongside the firm's M&A and Funds Tax practices, providing a fully joined-up service to private equity funds and their portfolio companies. The team advises across the entire investment lifecycle - from acquisition through growth and reorganisation, to eventual exit.

You'll gain hands-on exposure to complex, high-profile transactions while developing your technical expertise and commercial understanding of how private equity operates. You'll be supported by experienced managers and directors, and enjoy direct client contact from the outset.

This role offers incredible variety, exposure and learning potential - ideal for ambitious tax professionals ready to step into an advisory environment.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll work across a broad range of projects for private equity-backed clients, including:

  • Post-acquisition support and integration planning

  • Cash tax modelling and forecasting

  • Group simplifications and reorganisations

  • Exit readiness and transaction preparation

  • Tax due diligence and structuring advice for bolt-on acquisitions

  • Carve-outs, refinancings and disposals

  • Tax compliance, reporting and governance

You'll play an active part in the team's development, contribute ideas, and gain invaluable experience working alongside experts in international and transaction tax.

About You

You'll be motivated, commercially curious and eager to build a career in Private Equity tax. You might already have some experience in corporate or transaction tax, or simply a strong foundation in UK tax and a desire to specialise.

Essential skills and experience:

  • CTA (or equivalent) qualified, or in the final stages of study

  • Solid UK tax knowledge gained in practice or an in-house environment

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

  • Enthusiastic team player with a proactive attitude and eagerness to learn

Ideally, you'll also have:

  • Exposure to corporate, M&A, or transaction tax work

  • A genuine interest in private equity and how deals are structured
