US/UK Tax Manager - Trusts
Top 10 Firm | £67,000-£80,000 + Benefits | Flexible / Hybrid / UK Wide

Having just met with a Director of an exciting Top 10 accountancy and advisory firm, I have been selected to support them with the appointment of a US/UK Tax Manager to join its highly regarded Trust & Family Wealth team. This is a standout opportunity to specialise in complex, cross-border trust work within a growing, technically strong and collaborative private client team.

The US/UK Tax Manager Opportunity

  • You'll be joining a specialist team of 20, focused on US-connected trusts and estates, working with internationally mobile high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs and family wealth structures.
  • The role offers a genuine balance of compliance and highly technical advisory work, with exposure to large, complex estates and significant Partner interaction.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Managing a portfolio of US-connected trusts and estate clients
  • Delivering a mix of compliance and complex advisory work across US/UK tax regimes
  • Advising on cross-border trust structures, treaty interaction and inheritance tax considerations
  • Working closely with senior leadership on large, high-value estates (often £200m+)
  • Supporting and developing junior team members
  • Building strong client relationships within a referral-led environment
  • Contributing to the ongoing growth of a high-performing specialist team
  • Maintaining an even split between advisory and compliance work

Level & Progression

  • Open to strong Assistant Managers ready to step up, Managers or experienced hires operating at Senior Manager level (additional stage required).
  • Clear progression pathways within a growing team with strong 2-3 year expansion plans.

Location & Flexibility

  • UK wide hiring - candidates can be based anywhere in the UK
  • Flexible and hybrid working supported, with openness to fully remote arrangements
  • Highly adaptable working model focused on output rather than presence

Team & Culture

  • A highly technical, specialist environment with a strong emphasis on collaboration, knowledge sharing and development. The team is entrepreneurial, partner-led and benefits from high-quality client relationships driven through a strong intermediary network.
  • You'll work closely with experienced senior leadership who remain hands-on in complex delivery.

About You

This role would suit someone with:

  • Strong experience in US/UK trust and estate taxation
  • Exposure to US-connected trusts, cross-border issues and treaty interaction
  • A background in Big 4, Top 10/20 or specialist private client boutiques
  • Strong client management skills and ability to handle technical complexity
  • Interest in both advisory and compliance work
  • Relevant qualifications (EA / ATT / CTA / STEP preferred, but strong single-qualified candidates considered)
  • Not suitable for candidates without deep trust experience or those requiring visa sponsorship.

Salary & Process

  • Salary circa £65,000-£82,000 depending on experience, plus benefits
  • Two-stage interview process (three for Senior Manager level): initial screening followed by technical assessment and final leadership discussion
