Boutique Accountancy Practice - North London Up to £60,000 | Full-Time | Start January or ASAP

I'm partnering exclusively with a long-established boutique accountancy practice in North London that is looking for an experienced Accounts Senior to join their close-knit team. This is a varied, hands-on role ideal for someone with strong general practice experience who enjoys working across a broad client base and contributing to the smooth running of a small, well-organised firm.

The firm is seeking a capable all-rounder who can take ownership of year-end accounts, tax compliance, and day-to-day workflow. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of UK practice experience and confidence working with OMB and SME clients across multiple sectors.

The Accounts Senior Opportunity

This is an excellent position for someone with solid, rounded experience across accounts and tax who wants autonomy, variety, and the chance to make a meaningful impact. You'll be joining a respected practice with long-standing client relationships and a supportive, personable working culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing year-end accounts for clients typically up to £2.5m-£3m turnover
  • Preparing corporate tax returns, personal tax returns, and quarterly VAT returns
  • Working in line with FRS102 and FRS102 1A
  • Supporting day-to-day practice administration and ensuring smooth workflow
  • Maintaining AML compliance and internal quality standards
  • Managing client communication and nurturing long-term relationships
  • Using QuickBooks, Xero, and Digit for accounts and tax work
  • Minimal bookkeeping; no management accounts required

Candidate Profile

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has strong, broad general practice experience (qualification helpful but not essential)
  • Enjoys a hands-on role with both technical and organisational responsibilities
  • Works confidently and independently, taking ownership of their workload
  • Thrives in a small, collaborative team environment
  • Communicates clearly and professionally with clients
  • Is organised, reliable, and able to keep processes running smoothly

Role Details

  • Full-time preferred (part-time considered)
  • Hybrid working
  • Free on-site parking
  • Ideal start: January or ASAP
  • Salary: Up to £60,000, depending on experience

Application Process

CVs will be submitted directly to the Practice Principal, with in-person interviews arranged for shortlisted candidates.
