THE CLIENT
With over 60 offices across the UK, Haines Watts is a multi-award winning Practice, with over 1000 employees. Each Haines Watts office is an independent business - Haines Watts Bristol has been expanding rapidly and since October 2015 they have merged with 3 other firms. The Bristol office acts as a centre of excellence for the South-West, offering all service lines across corporate tax, personal tax, bookkeeping, audit and accounts. Working in a range of industries, including professional practices; solicitors, barristers, media clients and OMBs with turnovers between 5-10 million.
THE CHALLENGE
After acquiring several smaller firms through mergers, Haines Watts Bristol are continuing to grow and win new work. The urgent need for an additional staff member to hit the ground running quickly became apparent. Due to the location of the office, Haines Watts Bristol was looking at a very small pool of candidates and focusing on those that were local and looking to relocate for the opportunity.
OUR SOLUTION
After an initial introduction over the phone, Pro-Tax arranged a time to meet with Haines Watts Bristol and discuss recruitment needs further. Haines Watts mentioned that they had advertised the role externally and the role was with a few local recruiters but had not received any strong profiles and therefore Pro-Tax suggested the best way to move forward would be on a contingent basis. Pro-Tax compiled a thorough shortlist of potential candidates, conducted skype interviews and ensured that the role would be the appropriate fit for both candidate and client.
THE RESULT
After compiling a shortlist and reaching out to multiple candidates, the following week Pro-Tax met a candidate who was interested and put their profile forward. They were requested for interview and the interview was arranged for the following week. The interview took place and the candidate was offered in the interview and accepted.
FOLLOW UP
The candidate has now started with Haines Watts Bristol and is enjoying their role. Haines Watts were very pleased with the success and speed of the placement.
