Raffingers is a Top 100 UK firm of chartered accountants based in Woodford Green providing a variety of services including audit, accounting, tax and corporate finance to their established and expanding client base. 


In March 2016, Raffingers undertook a full and detailed strategic review of their recruitment process with the view of attracting and retaining great candidates. Historically the firm had used a larger number of recruiters to service their needs due to the difficulty they faced attracting candidates given their location. The firm decided it was essential that they worked with a select few agencies but created stronger and closer working relationships between the chosen few. Due to the continued growth of the firm high calibre individuals were always needed by the Partners and therefore Pro-Finance were invited to meet with Raffingers to discuss how we could assist over the next 12 months. 


Pro-Finance met with Raffingers and discussed what both parties were hoping to achieve from the relationship. Pro-Finance could demonstrate a detailed understanding of the values and culture within Raffingers and the type of individual they recruit and who they wanted to join them on their journey up the Top 100 Accountancy Age ladder. Following the meeting, Pro Finance was successfully chosen as one of four preferred suppliers. From this moment, Pro Finance planned a detailed approach and recruitment strategy to assist Raffingers with their growing needs. Through effective advertising, mailshots and headhunting we could identify several suitable individuals and with our knowledge of the firm and their culture we could discuss the opportunities available in detail with the selected candidates. We carried out detailed pre-screening and face to face competency interviews to assess the suitability of candidates before presenting them to Raffingers. 


Over the 12-month period since our initial meeting, Pro Finance has successfully placed four candidates with the firm ranging from an Audit Senior to an Associate Partner. When placing the Associate Partner with the firm there were initial concerns that their experience may not be suitable for Raffingers but I was able to discuss my feedback having interviewed the individual and recommend they meet the candidate. As a result, the individual was deemed a perfect culture fit for Raffingers and someone who would be an asset moving forward resulting in a successful offer. 


As mentioned previously, in the 12-month period Pro-Finance has placed four candidates with Raffingers and following a recent catch-up meeting we received excellent feedback from the firm for the work completed. The relationship has been extended for a further 12 months and we are currently the number 1 agency on their preferred supplier list with a 37% fill rate of all agency hires.  “We at Raffingers have worked very closely with Tom Eagle in the past year.
