Westleton Drake Case Study

Article Background

Westleton Drake is a firm that specialises in providing tax advisory and compliance services to UK and US individuals and companies based in the UK. Founded back in 2010; the Firm has doubled in size within the past 2 years and is now hugely well regarded within the market and making incredible headway against the largest competitor.

At the beginning of 2017, having just moved into their spectacular new offices with endless expansion opportunities and combined with a record start to the year with new clients won; it became clear a need for a strong and experienced Manager was required to lead this heady, ambitious team to reach further growth potentials.

A meeting was immediately called with the Partner, Adam Smith which included a tour around their new destination offices. Further conversation and a pertinent fact find ensued around team structures, turnovers, business plans, skill levels and just as importantly, personality and culture fit of current employees. After a full understanding of the Firm and the team’s needs; a plan was put into action encompassing our extensive active candidate database, mapping the market and reaching out to excellent passive candidates and producing a dynamic advert stream.

Swiftly following the launch of the advertising campaign, an experienced candidate stood out from the selection of relevant responses. After relaying the opportunity and the Firm back, the candidate was fully sold on investigating the position further and within a week had their first interview. The candidate, with their extensive knowledge in the market was in hot demand and although had a number of opportunities laid out before them, was already fairly certain on the track they wanted to go down. A prompt second interview with fellow Partners occurred and a flattering offer was produced reflecting the value the Firm had recognized with the candidate. A further week along and the candidate had started successfully.

With this successful placement, following a healthy track record of similar processes; the relationship between Pro-Tax and Westleton Drake has continued to strengthen, to the point we at Pro-Tax and Westleton Drake actively support each other with charity football matches, golf days and other events we each host often outside the working space. This sealed relationship undoubtedly led to a further placement that happened within the team in quick succession; with further live processes in place today. Pro-Tax has actively kept in touch with the candidate over celebratory meals, drinks and most recently participated in a charity cup shield; ensuring we keep close to those we work with throughout and after their process.
