The Opportunity
Our client, a leading accountancy and advisory firm within a major global network, is seeking a Manager to join its growing Customs & International Trade team in London. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to play a key role in delivering high-quality client work while supporting the continued growth of the practice.
The role offers exposure to complex and high-value engagements across customs, excise and CBAM, alongside clear opportunities for career progression.
The Role
As Manager, you will take day-to-day responsibility for delivering multiple client engagements, acting as the primary contact for clients and ensuring work is delivered to a consistently high technical and professional standard. You will also help develop junior team members and support the team's commercial growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver a wide range of customs and international trade engagements including:
- Customs classification, origin and valuation
- Preferential duty reviews and duty reclaims
- Customs special procedures
- AEO authorisations
- HMRC audits, reviews and disclosures
- Excise duties and approvals
- CBAM advisory
- Manage projects end-to-end, from scoping and planning through to delivery and follow-on support.
- Act as the day-to-day lead on client relationships, maintaining strong communication and managing expectations.
- Support proposal preparation, fee discussions and budgeting; monitor recoveries and coordinate billing.
- Review technical work, manage workloads and support the development of Assistant Managers and junior staff.
Skills & Experience
- Typically 5+ years' experience in customs and international trade.
- Strong technical knowledge across core customs disciplines and experience leading engagements.
- Experience supervising or reviewing work of junior team members.
- Commercial awareness with experience managing fees, budgets and client relationships.
- A consultancy or professional services background preferred.
